Release an operation (via Gantt diagram)

Only a planned operation (that does not need inventory) and an allocated operation (for which inventory has already been reserved) can be released.

For example: Specific operations can be released for a given production order, while other operations cannot yet be released.

  1. Choose Production Management in the Navigation Pane.
  2. Click the element Departments, Machines, (External) Work Centers, Resource Groups or Planning Cells.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Choose a department, machine, (external) work center, resource group or planning cell.
    • Choose My 'Element'.
    • Choose a filter.
  4. Choose the tab Planning.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Select one or more operations, right-click the selected operation in the Gantt diagram and choose Release Operation in the shortcut menu.
    • Select a machine or work center in the column Resource, select one or more operations in the sub tab Planning and click Release Operation in the toolbar of the sub tab Planning.
  6. If the dialog box Wizard Release Operation appears, choose one of the following options:
    • Release all the operations of production order 'NameProductionOrder'
    • Release operation 'NameOperation'
  7. Click Finish.
  8. Confirm if the dialog box Release Operation appears.
