Add a new LPN buffer
- Choose in the Navigation Pane.

Do one of the following:
- Right-click LPN Buffers or My LPN Buffers in the Navigation Pane and choose New LPN Buffer in the shortcut menu.
- Click New LPN Buffer
in the toolbar of the Data Pane.

In the option group General, complete the fields below:
Field Explanation Name
(mandatory field)
The name of the LPN buffer.
Description The description of the LPN buffer. ID Field to be completed at your discretion, to assign an individual ID. Category Field to be completed at your discretion, to assign an individual category. -
If required, check the following field in the option group Item Settings:
Field Explanation Maximum Allowed #LPNs Check if a maximum number of LPNs per item is applicable for this LPN buffer. Enter the maximum number of LPNs per item, press the arrows or click Arrow Up or Arrow Down on the keyboard to adjust the number. This number is by default used for each item that is set under the tab Items > sub tab Specific Settings. It is possible to overwrite this number for individual items. See Item based settings in an LPN buffer.

Where applicable, in the option group Handling Options, check the following fields:
Field Explanation Allow automatic evacuation Items are evacuated automatically when other items must take their place. Evacuation only takes place when necessary. Allow space assignment to top X tasks It can be set how many tasks (LPNs) have to be taken into account to be replenished to the LPN buffer if tasks are pending due to a lack of space. The smaller this number is, the quicker the system will determine which LPNs will be replenished. If there are, for example, small LPNs with a low priority and large LPNs (which will need more space in the LPN buffer) with a high priority, it might be recommendable to set this value to 1. Otherwise, the small LPNs will always be prioritized.
- Click Finish.
