Plan an unavailability

  1. Choose Production Management > Planning Cells in the Navigation Pane.
  2. Select the planning cell.
  3. Choose the tab Planning.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Select a machine or work center in the column Resource and click Plan Unavailability in the toolbar of the sub tab Planning.
    • Right-click the correct spot in the Gantt diagram and choose Plan Unavailability in the shortcut menu.
  5. In the option group Settings of the dialog box Wizard Plan Unavailability, complete or edit the following fields:
    FieldExplanation

    Planned Start

    (mandatory)

    Click and select the start date and time of the unavailability.

    Planned Stop

    (mandatory)

    Click and select the stop date and time of the unavailability.
    Category

    Select one of the following options from the drop-down menu:

    • <default>, without category; you can add a category yourself.
    • Buffer Capacity, for example to execute urgent orders on a Friday.
    • Maintenance, unavailability due to maintenance of the machine or work center.
    • Test Runs, unavailability due to testing of the machine or work center.
  6. Where applicable, in the field Description, you can add extra information regarding the unavailability.
  7. If personnel is needed during the unavailability, choose the tab Required Personnel.
  8. Click Manage Skills .
  9. Select one or more skills from the option group Available.
  10. Click on the single arrow to add the skills to the option group Selected.
    • To add one skill, double-click the skill.
    • To add all skills, click the double arrow .
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click Finish.
  13. The dialog box Plan Unavailability may appear if the unavailability cannot be planned. Read the error message carefully, click Details to display more information, then click Close.
