Add a new work zone

  1. Choose Warehouse Management > Work Zones in the Navigation Pane.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click Work Zones or My Work Zones in the Navigation Pane and choose New Work Zone in the shortcut menu.
    • Click New Work Zone in the toolbar of the Data Pane.
  3. In the option group Work Zone, complete the fields below:
    FieldExplanation

    Name

    (mandatory field)

    The name of the work zone.

    Description The description of the work zone.
    ID Field to be completed at your discretion, to assign an individual ID.
    Category Field to be completed at your discretion, to assign an individual category.
  4. In the option group Pick Drop Off, complete the fields below:

    Drop Off Area

    Optional field.

    If a drop off area is specified here, Objective will send a detail picked LPN to one of the drop off locations in the chosen drop off area.

    Do one of the following:

    • In the field Drop Off Area, enter the name of the drop off area.
    • Click Select Drop Off Area or press ALT + D, select a drop off area and click Finish.
  5. Where applicable, in the option group Handling Options, check the fields below:

    Task Swap Enabled

    Unchecked by default.

    If checked: The operator can process a task other than the task offered when working in system directed operation. See Task swap.

    Menu Directed Pick Lists
    • If NOT checked, the pick lists are offered system directed, no matter how the pick tasks are executed.
    • If checked, the pick lists are offered menu-directed (picking by means of the combination RF device + an overview on paper), independent of how the pick tasks are executed.

    Menu Directed Pick Tasks
    • If NOT checked, the pick tasks are handled system directed, no matter how the pick lists were offered.
    • If checked, the pick tasks are handled menu-directed (picking by means of the combination RF device + an overview on paper), independent of how the pick lists are executed.

    Use Combined Pick Lists

    Unchecked by default.

    This option can only be checked if Menu Directed Pick Tasks is also checked. In that case, the pick tasks for full LPNs, together with the detail pick tasks on the pick lists of the work zone, will be added for the menu directed handling of full and less than full LPN pick tasks via the combination RF terminal + an overview on paper.

    Multi Order Enabled

    The work zone can be allowed to handle multiple orders in one go.

    The operator will be presented the choice when displaying the first pick list via the RF terminal.

    Menu Directed Multi Order (Module Advanced Picking Management required.)

    Multi-order pick lists can be executed menu-directed.

    • If NOT checked, the multi-order pick lists are handled system directed.
    • If checked, the multi-order pick lists are offered menu-directed (picking by means of combination RF device + an overview on paper).
  6. Click Finish.
  7. Where applicable, add free fields. See Edit free fields via tab (Configurator).
