Template recipe
Lots of similar products have nearly the same recipe, except for a few small differences. Instead of creating a different recipe from scratch for each item, a template recipe can be used. This is a preconfigured recipe (resources, resource settings, instructions and output item settings) that can be used as a recipe configuration template for other recipes.
The setup of 1 template recipe is supported, with the possibility to create multiple variants. It is possible to link items 'to be produced' with the right variant.
Go through the following steps to work with a template recipe.
- Configure the template recipe options in System Management (BOM settings and operation handling).
- Configure the necessary input groups and output groups. These groups respectively bundle the inputs and outputs which will share the same strategy regarding WIP Handling, Inventory Handling...
- Add the necessary variants to the recipe (see from Add a new variant to a recipe). Configure the variants and add input groups and/or output groups. It is also possible to add plain inputs.
- Apply the template recipe to one or several items.
