Add an equipment module to a location

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Choose Warehouse Management > Warehouses or Warehouse Management > Locations and select the location in the Navigation Pane. Right click the location and choose Add Equipment Module.
    • Choose Warehouse Management > Warehouses and select the location in the Navigation Pane. Select the tab Equipment Modules in the Data Pane. Click Add Equipment Module .
    • Choose Warehouse Management > Locations in the Navigation Pane, select the location in the Data Pane. Select the tab Equipment Modules in the Data Pane. Click Add Equipment Module .
  2. Enter the following data in the Wizard Add Equipment Module:

    Name

    (mandatory field)

    The name of the equipment module.
    Description The description of the equipment module.
    ID Field to be completed at your discretion, to assign an individual ID.
    Category Choose the desired category out of the following options:
    • Generic
    • Silo
    • Scanner
    Connector Depending on the chosen category, only the option Read-only (only for reading out tags or data of an equipment module) or also the option Read-write (possibility to add information to the tag or to overwrite existing information) is available.
    Device type Select the device. Depending on the category, a choice can be made between all device types which are supported by the device handler.
    For the category Generic, only a free entrance is possible. For the category Silo no entrance or selection is possible.
    Device ID Enter the Device ID, as known for the device server.
    Tag prefix Not applicable.
  3. Click Finish.
  4. Where applicable, add free fields. See Edit free fields via tab (Configurator).
  5. If fully configured, bring the equipment module online via Bring Equipment Module Online .

    • A warning is given if the available connector licenses have run out while bringing online the equipment module. Contact Objective to increase the available number of licenses or take an unused equipment module offline.

    • To make adjustments to the equipment module settings, it also needs to be taken offline via Take Equipment Module Offline .
  6. It is possible to add the following tags to a module of a location:
    To delete an equipment module, click Delete Equipment Module .
