Space of a location

You can add space to a location via the elements Warehouses or Locations.
The space in a warehouse or location is determined by a virtual space unit (expressed in cubics) or a real space unit (width, depth, height or volume).

Cubics: If a logistic carrier (LPN) with a volume of 1 cubic is stored at a location with an available space of 5 cubics, it means that normally 5 logistic carrier (LPN) units can be stored at the location.

Real space unit:

  • In a rack warehouse where the LPNs are stored next to each other, width can be used as space unit.
  • If a flow rack is being used, depth can be used as space unit.
  • ...

You can also enter detailed cubics settings.

For example when delivering goods on a EURO pallet, a maximum available space of 3 cubics is used. When delivering goods on an industrial pallet, a maximum available space of 4 cubics is used.

Via System Management, the default space utilization when creating a new location can be set. This can be set or modified per individual location.
