Add a new parameter definition

  1. Choose Production Management > Parameter Definitions in the Navigation Pane.
  2. Click New Parameter Definition in the Data Pane.
  3. In the option group Parameter Definition, complete the fields below:
    FieldExplanation
    Name

    (mandatory field)

    The name of the parameter definition.
    Description The description of the parameter definition.
    Data Type

    (mandatory field)

    Select one of the following options in the drop-down menu:

    • Number: a numerical standard value can be entered in the parameter configuration, and possibly upper and lower limits.
    • Text: a free text can be entered in the parameter configuration as standard value.
    • Flag: a checked field or an unchecked field can be set as standard value in the parameter configuration.
    • Date: a date and possibly an hour can be set as standard value in the parameter configuration.

    Uom (unit of measurement)

    		 If Number was chosen as data type, a Uom needs to be specified.

    Do one of the following:

    • In Uom enter the Uom and press Enter.
    • Click on Uom Selection , select a dimension in the option group Dimensions, then choose a Uom in the option group Uoms and click on Complete.
  4. Where applicable, in the option group Grouping, complete the following fields:
    FieldExplanation
    Group To which group the parameter definition belongs to.
    Subgroup To which subgroup the parameter definition belongs to.
    The grouping facilitates the organization of the parameter definitions, and can be used to filter parameter definitions while configuring parameters.
  5. Click Finish.
  6. Where applicable, add free fields. See Edit free fields via icon (Configurator).
  7. Where applicable, add translations. See Add translations via icon (Configurator).
