Reject Reasons

During the production process it could happen that the produced end item or intermediate product does not meet the set requirements. Depending on the problem found, it can be opted to rework the product or to consider it as scrap. For reporting purposes, the operator must indicate the exact reason. That is why a list of the problems that can occur, both generic (general reject reasons, centrally configured and subsequently added to machines and/or work centers) and machine specific (configured at the machine or the work center itself), is created beforehand.

The reject reasons are grouped in reject reason groups.

Before adding a reject reason to Objective, is it recommended to first make an overview of all reject reasons and then to determine the groups they belong to.

Examples of reject reason groups:

  • Machine errors
  • Human errors
  • Material deviation

Examples of reject reasons:

  • Insufficient closure
  • Fault in the surface
  • Incorrect assembly
  • Wrong color
  • Insufficient adhesion

The effect on the rejected WIP can be set per reject reason, where:

  • the WIP can be removed (definitively rejected)
  • the QC status of the WIP can be adjusted to e.g. call for further inspections
  • the rejected WIP can be separated to another bin/carrier (LPN)
