External work centers

The logistic actions to outsource production activities to external suppliers are supported within Objective.

Provided a correct configuration within the Objective Configurator, receipts and / or outbound orders (for inputs and outputs of the external production process) are created automatically when releasing the production order for external production (PO0000000001) or when releasing the external operation. These orders will have EXTERNAL PRODUCTION as order type.

With external operations, it is possible to work with a combination of inbound and outbound orders, or only with inbound orders. Working with only outbound orders is not possible.

The inputs for an external work center are marshaled on a marshaling location (WIP-IN location of the external work center (1)). This can be items which are picked in a storage zone (1a), or the outputs of an internal operation (1b). Outbound orders for an external work center (O0000000001) are automatically created if the inventory handling and the WIP handling of the inputs is set correctly (Configurator).

The outputs of an external work center are received on an inbound location (WIP-OUT location of the external work center (2)). These outputs can be put away in a storage zone (2a), or can be used as inputs for a subsequent internal operation (2b). Receipts of an external work center (REC0000000001) are automatically created if the inventory handling and the WIP handling of the outputs is set correctly (Configurator).

Only one receipt and one outbound order can be created per external operation.

If required, it is possible to work with multiple shipments.
