Integration with Objective WMS

Figure: Integration of MES with WMS

Production logistics is a very important aspect of the production run. Objective MES (Manufacturing Execution System) offers in this context a transparent integration with Objective WMS (Warehouse Management System).

To carry out production orders the required material must be available at the relevant production lines. These can be components or intermediate products. For components it does not only entail ingredients that must be processed while making the product, but, for example, also packing materials or carriers for the product.

When starting a production order, the operator can generate a manual or automatic request for the needed items via the system. Upon integration with the Objective Warehouse Management Engine module, the WMS will react by allocating the needed inventory, generating pick tasks for that request and, after they have been executed, generate a task for the relocation of these items to the relevant production line (WIP IN).

Furthermore, Objective WMS is equipped with a PLE module (module Advanced Picking required), which automatically manages the allocation and release of the orders. This ensures that the production can be started on time, and that overflowing WIP IN-locations are avoided by early picking.

The items brought are then used for the production order in question and after completion thereof, a putaway order will be created in Objective MES to put away the goods in the warehouse (WIP OUT) (module Warehouse Management Engine required).
